“I am interested in using biochemistry and biophysics to investigate mechanisms underlying certain disease states. In particular, I find the mechanics of protein folding and dynamics to be very intriguing.”

“I am interested in answering questions related to developing better cancer therapeutics. Whether it’s by discovering novel targets and/or using drug delivery approaches to better bioavailability/efficiency of the compounds themselves.”

“Broadly, I have an interest in studying enzymology and structural biology to answer questions related to immune and metabolism diseases such as cancer. I think that advancing our understanding of such diseases requires structure-function studies of large protein families, such as GPCRS, to be driven by bioinformatics paired with fundamental biochemistry. A particular question I’m curious about is how the structure of such enzymes contribute to the big-picture of cellular dynamics? More specifically, how does regulation of enzymes change their structural dynamics and how does this fit into the big-picture phenomena of disease?”

“I am interested in looking at molecular mechanisms that are effected by environmental stress, such as heat stress. I am also interested in taking a more population health and epidemiology approach to see how environmental stressors related to climate change effect human health.”

“I am interested in translational cancer research. I would like to study the pathophysiology of cancer and identify therapeutic targets in malignancies.”

“I am interested in taking part in research aiming to understand the causes and progression of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases, as well as identifying potential therapeutic targets. I am interested in using my background in AAV gene therapy to participate in translational research projects and contribute to treatments for these conditions.”

“Overall, I am interested in immunology in a more basic science context. Under this umbrella I am curious about looking at how cancer forms and changes and am also very excited about the prospect of branching into autoimmune disease research.”

“At UNC, I am interested in researching factors and exposures that may contribute to the development of allergy and disease. I would like to study and evaluate potential biomarkers from oral immunotherapy studies to further understand why individuals become sensitized to antigens and explore potential therapeutics for desensitization.”

“I am broadly interested in the genetic and genomic mechanisms behind disease development and drug response. Disease states of interest include cardiovascular disorders and tumorigenesis.”
