Biological and biomedical laboratories at UNC perform cutting-edge research in a broad array of fields such as developmental biology, nanomedicine, genomics, cancer biology, virology, and many more. Students from diverse backgrounds and from all over the world who are inspired to participate in such research apply to UNC through the umbrella Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (BBSP). BBSP has over 350 faculty members organized into 14 degree granting PhD programs plus many Specialized Training Tracks that provide focused preparation in areas of particular strength at UNC. Our TIBBS professional development program offers career awareness and skills training to help graduate students prepare for successful careers after their degree.
