Dr. Hardy serves as the director of UNC PREP, an NIH funded one-year post-baccalaureate research program for students in groups historically underrepresented in the sciences. She also serves as the co-director of scientific outreach. In both roles, she develops, implements, evaluates, and optimizes new and ongoing initiatives and outreach programs targeting K-12 and undergraduates participants designed to enhance the graduate training environment. Dr Hardy also co-directs the UNC Summer of Learning and Research (SOLAR) program for undergraduates from groups historically underrepresented in the sciences. She oversees the 10-week summer research experience and professional development for the SOLAR students, who participate from colleges and universities across the country.
